This excursion was such a disappointment, and the saddest thing is that this boat ride could be so much better if it was managed differently. The boat was extremely crowded!!! I can't say this enough. The tables and plastic folding chairs are so close together...More

We really enjoyed getting out on the water and having a hands on experience of the Erie Canal. The cruise lasts about ninety minutes, and it includes going through a lock, both going up and back down.

This tour leaves from Pittsford, NY and is about 1-1/2 hours. The captain & crew are very knowledgeable and give you a good overview of the canal both past & present. There is a center covered section with seating and standing in the open fore...More

Thank you for your kind review and continued support. As a replica packet boat, Sam Pam can be a bit close in the cabin on popular tours. We strive to be kid friendly and to provide an authentic experience, so we are very happy to...More

This is a 90 minute ride along the Erie Canal. We went with our two kids. The boat can fit 49 people. There are tables of 4 or 6 with some room in the front and back of the boat to stand. About 45 minutes...More

We enjoyed are boat tour because of the information available and we stood out front and had a good view the whole time. The only problem was that that the tables and chairs are so tightly fit together if there is a party of 2...More

This is highly recommended for everyone. We had a very nice relaxing time...learned a lot about the canal...went through a lock and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and weather. Very economical and enjoyable.

One must take one tour of the NY canal system. We’re glad that we did this, and it was worth the $15. The boat was crowded, the tour information interesting but limited. Worth it but could be better.

My book club had our July summer outing on the Sam Patch. There were 6 of us total. Front of the boat was quite full so we enjoyed the captain's company on the back deck under the canopy. We had a fun time learning about...More

My family and I have taken this tour before and it's a nice one, but I wish they would slightly undersell their seats, or add a bench to the canopied back of the boat. The front has benches but no canopy and you fry. We...More

A very uncomfortable trip because the boat was packed so tight you couldn’t move. Sam Patch would be wise to limit seating. I would not take this tour again.More

We are sorry you did not enjoy your tour. As a replica packet boat, the space is not configured as some more modern, less authentic vessels. We do often sell out due to high demand in our high season. We’ve added an additional trip each...More

I would assume so, actually very little space is outside of cover, all the seats are under cover.
