Set at the entrance of a recreated 19th century farming village sits an ugly metal garage that houses armored vehicles and weapons of war. There’s nothing that tells the story of the veterans who actually used the weapons to win past wars. There’s just tanks...More

Took our teenage son here given his interest in military history. Terrific little museum with an interesting and educational collection. Volunteer docents were very helpful.

Very interesting and "hands on" for children. More interesting details could be added for each piece or a tour guide would be a good add on. Seems like they are still growing.

All sorts of armored military vehicles in one big room in a warehouse-type building. Everything was neat, clean, and organized. Friendly, knowledgeable volunteers. Could spend 15 minutes or an hour here. Very close to Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Look into that as well if you...More

First time visit, very nice, clean, and very informed volunteers. Looking forward to watching it grow larger over the years. Plan on under a one hour visit, all mostly in one large room. Plenty of parking.

Check out the special events dates on their official site and you'll see the vehicles operate in motion in the adjoining field. Old Bethpage Village Restoration is next door only a few hundred feet away. Get there early and make an entire day or weekend...More

I visited this museum when it opened. There was several speeches given. There was armor from several world wars on display. A definite experience.

This museum never fails to impress and you never know what new armor they have recently acquired. While their Sherman and Stuart tanks and half tracks have been there since they opened they have just gotten a rare Marine amphibious vehicle and staged a mock...More

This is a must visit. History, artifacts, guides who are extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles and equipment. Many LI roots to be found here.

My son found this museum on the Internet; I had no idea it existed. We went; it was unbelievable! This huge building houses working army vehicles from mainly WWII, but other wars as well, and information about them, and from that era, and that life,...More

The website says $12 for admission but we were never asked for money when we got there. We just walked in and started looking around. So not really sure.

I think it depends on the 7 year old. Some will probably have a lifetime memory. Others may not look up from their smartphone. I know the kids we saw at the museum were amazed when one of the tanks started up.
