Full of hidden coves and snorkeling spots, Santorini’s gorgeous coastline is best seen from the water. This catamaran cruise takes you to a series of beaches and landmarks that can only be reached by boat, with time to soak in the island’s volcanic hot springs, too. Plus, with two tour times to choose from and round-trip transport, food, and snorkeling gear all included, this tour is extremely convenient for any traveler wanting to add it to their itinerary.

While there is very little left of the castle - after several wars, eruptions and earthquakes over the last 600 years, the place is great vantage point to see the whole of Oia and also presents a great backdrop for pictures - which is what most do here these days. It is also a good spot to see the sunset - but is likely to be crowded.

If you are interested in castles and military architecture then don't bother visiting this place. Although it is technically the remains of a 600 year old castle there is actually almost nothing left after the 1956 earthquake. What you do get is a base to sit and watch the Oia sunset with the iconic windmills as a backdrop. Be prepared for there being lots of people, even in October it was busy and there wasn't room to set up a tripod. The walls are not in any way flat so good luck balancing a camera! They are wide enough to sit on though and just watch the view. There is also a small chapel but that area was cordoned off.

This place is absolutely amazing! This is the spot from where people take pictures of the famous Oia windmills, although many people know this and take advantage of this making it a very popular destination for tourists during sunset. Best time to go here would be after dark. You'll have the place to yourself and get the gift of seeing the beauty of Santorini being bathed in ambient light!

It is nice to run up to look at sunrise. You would not be alone as many come here to take photographs including newly weds and their photographers.

The castle in Oia allows you to take the iconic windmill photo and offers superb views of the caldera. It was reasonably busy but there was enough space to socially distance, unlike the rest of the narrow Oia streets so remember that.
