Overcrowded tourist trap
Aug. 2021 • Couples
Overcrowded as I have rarely seen a little town. This used to be a nice place years ago, but it has really become a tourist trap. Definitely to be avoided on busy summer days.

Pebbles and pebbles :-)
Jul. 2021
Etretat is a nice town by the sea. It is rather touristic, that is why It was not my top favourite. We visited Etretat in July, and it was hard to find a parking a parking place. I cannot imagine how many people visited this tiny town before covid....
Anyway, the town itself is for mass tourism, while on the other hand the coastline gives you the real experience!

Ill-maintained tourist trap
Jun. 2021 • Family
The place is swamped with tourists. The local authorities and businesses obviously are abusing the tourist industry as a cash cow and have no intentions to use the industry’s income to raise the overall standard of the city. Therefore it looks very tacky and ill-maintained. Apparently also to the annoyance of the locals, who are protesting against tourism with banners. Staff in restaurants and hotels seem annoyed and/or indifferent with visitors. We will never visit again and advise strongly against visiting this place.

Never gets okd
Sep. 2019 • Family
I could visit this place all the time. The beach has lots of pebbles so you have to be prepared for that. The geology is out amazing. The old town is nice and cozy. Not overly crowded. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Take the train to discover a better view.

Amazing cliffs
Jul. 2019
It is a tiny town with amazing cliffs. Take enough time and walk around. We arrived at late afternoon and walked below cliffs (southern side). There is even a tunnel which you use to reach next beach with a nice stone structure in the sea. Next day we walked to the chapel. Amazing view, on the town, cliffs and beaches. Water as rather cold but a nice refreshment.

Neat beach town
Jul. 2019 • Couples
Off the beaten path, but a fun stop to stroll the few streets and shops, while ending at the beach to see the stunning cliffs.

Lovely town, very crowded
Jul. 2019 • Friends
Our visit was in a Sunday and everyone in Northern France seemed to have the same idea. There is limited parking in town and we had to hike quite a way to get in to the beach. The town is lovely and plenty of places to eat. You can hike up either set of cliffs if your legs are young and your lungs are healthy. Lovely spot, will return when it’s not the middle of holiday season.

A very beautiful tiny town with wonderful cliffs
Dec. 2018 • Family
Etretat is a tiny town located in the coast of Normandy, in the North of France. It is a very beautiful town, where you can walk, relax, go to the beach, eat or drink something and especially go to the coast and see the wonderful cliffs (falaises, in French) and do some excursions to go to the upper part of the cliffs. Really, a great rock formations on the sea, which change every year due to the erosion.

3 streets...
May 2019 • Couples
The village is just three streets more or less, the most interesting due to the tourism. The rest are very empty but the village is nice, full of life.
