Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small but nice fish market for the town of Mindelo. Smaller merchants clean and sell fish in the streets around the market, but the best choices are still at the market itself.

Enjoyed the sights and smells of this market immensely, however, did not linger as was just passing by as a tourist, not there to buy fish.

Went here in the morning when the market was in full swing.
It is busy place with the fish being offloaded from small boats and vans.
There are a number of stalls with a range of fish being sold. Along one wall are a dozen or so men cleaning and gutting the fish before they are sold. In the road outside there are individuals selling fish from buckets and bowls which adds to the noise and atmosphere.

Restaurant was very busy and the service took a little time which is understandable but when we got oir food it was worth it. Food was amazing and the waitress reccommend us some local wine which was perfect match with the food.
We had some seafood stew for 2 and the taste was amazing. Would love to go back again.

A really awesome open air market with an array of different eateries to choose from. The drawing card of this place is actually that you are able to buy fresh produce directly from the market and have it prepares by one of the many informal restaurants. Definitely a worth a visit!

We didn't get here too early so I suspect much of the fish had already been sold as there were plenty of empty counters. Even so, there were many occupied counters and much hubbub and activity with locals buying their fish and skilled men and women filleting large tuna at the back. Very interesting but much like fish markets in other places round the world.

It's only a fish market - much like what can be seen anywhere in the world. It is interesting to the varieties of fish caught in the local waters however. It is reasonably clean, but like all fish markets the smell is something else. Go in the morning when it may be cooler!

Wonderful, colourful and fun. Eating fish is unavoidable on the Cabo Verde. The market gives you a good idea of all the 'gold' the ocean has to give you.
