Having lived in Westchester all of my life and having passed by the sign for the cottage too many times to count I was there one weekend in October. The Cottage and grounds had been set up as a Pirate experience for visitors. The grounds...More

While this stop is small, it was full of history. Unfortunately the day we went the one room school house wasn’t open, but I will definitely make the trip to see that when it is. This is a smaller site so I wouldn’t recommend bringing...More

Nicole, thank you for visiting and for your very positive comments. We are a small museum, but there is a lot to see. Unfortunately, the One-room Schoolhouse is not open during regular hours, but can be if you ask the director, John Wright, to open...More

I live nearby and am thus somewhat predjudiced. This is an important museum for US history. This was Thomas Paine's home.

I've literally stopped here three times when it was supposed to be open and couldn't get in because the doors were locked and nobody answered. Twice I was with other people and they couldn't figure it out either so we're either incredibly dumb, they need...More

Donny, we do apologize for this inconvenience. I am at a loss, as we always put a sign on the door if we are closed during our regular hours. We are a "one-man" operation and there are times when the director is not available to...More

My husband and I came with his granddad for a brief visit. We spend about 30-40 minutes browsing around. It's a charming little house with plenty old artifacts (not so old to me since I come from Europe and I can find most of these...More

It's a small but very interesting place that deserves a look-see. The gentleman inside is very nice and was happy to give me an overview as well as details of it's history.

The reason it got four starts and not two is because the curator was so gosh-darn interesting and patient with me. Only a fool would make this a destination in and of itself, but if you just had lunch and want to learn some fun...More
