After a hearty breakfast at Mr. John's on Montauk, bundle-up and head out to Camp Hero and Montauk Lighthouse. Tons of parking. Tons of trails. Picnic options. A Welcome Center. Beautiful location; great for a few hours of poking around. On-occasion one can see whales out in the sea at a distance. Great year-round; peaceful and pleasant off-season.

Beautiful old lighthouse. The tour takes you up a LONG flight of stairs (no need to get any cardio in that day - you'll be fine after climbing all the way up!) and a to a breathtaking view. It's a bit expensive for 2 people (at the time it was $12 each I believe) just to climb up and walk... More

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed the Point! Although a windy morning, we loved the fresh ocean air, fisherman trying to catch some scrumptious creatures, and just the all around beauty and history the Light House has to offer.

If you aren't ready to pay 10$ per adult and 6$ per kid you can simply walk all around on a path with large rocks, and you will be just few feet away from the sea lions ! Awesome views of the beach and the lighthouse from the south side of the path

wanted to take a ride and revisit the lighthouse, been a number of years since we have been there. poor signage to direct one. and then the GPS told us we were there 12 miles away, luckily saw signs and proceeded to the lighthouse. nice park, nice lighthouse good day for photos.

The Montauk Point Lighthouse is an amazing historic site. Located at the eastern tip of the South Fork of Long Island, the oldest lighthouse in New York State stands as a still functioning light. The museum, along with the lighthouse volunteers, offer more than the history of the lighthouse, but the history of this geographic area. It's a beautiful lighthouse... More

If you are in Montauk you MUST visit this Historic Landmark. I have stopped in to this Light House many times and each time I learn more about Long Island History. The displays are incredibly informative and the staff is superb. If you are lucky enough to be there when the House Historian, Henry Osmers is there than you are... More

We reached the place at sunset. You get amazing views and great pictures. There is a rocky beach next to the lighthouse where can you sit back and relax. You can climb up the lighthouse for a fee if that interests you. This spot is located in Montauk point state park which contains trails for hiking. You get great views... More

This is only one interesting think in Montauk (dont count beach), it is nice to see that but not necessary to see that.
