Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Small movie theater located in Malverne, NY. A select number of films are shown here. Most of them are indie films (which is my preference)! Ticket prices are very reasonable too!

Visiting a friend in the ‘burbs, we selected a movie in this theater not knowing we were to experience a treasured slice of Americana. Loved the film selection, the attention to customers (greeting everyone sincerely upon entry), the calmness of the entry hall, and yet the atmospheric enhancement of the dramatic mystique of Hollywood. I was in a cinema! If you are looking for 3D or IMAX, this is not for you. Go for a personal encounter with the screen images! If I lived in the area, I’d probably go monthly. (And as someone noted- choose your seat wisely if you arrive later - as you would in any theater. Consider side seats further back rather than front row, even if you have to excuse yourself to get to them.). Next door there is a classic diner to have a malt or a frappe latte after the flick.

Kudow to the Malverne Cinema for maintaining old traditions. So many local movie houses have bitten the dust. It's refreshing to see the Malverne surviving and doing well. This is truly a gem and a tribute to what theaters of the past once were. The management and staff keeps the theater clean and orderly. The feel once inside is one of intimacy, of sharing a movie together with friends and family (even though most goers are strangers). The only downside we encountered was seating. We didn't realize that people get there early to find a good seat. We bought our tickets in advance and strolled over about 15 minutes before showing. Only seats available were first row. This was not good, too close and totally unable to see the screen properly. We left and told the clerk who immediately refunded our money. We knew enough for the following day to purchase ticket and go inside right away to claim our seats. So glad staff was so understanding about things.

Love is gem...looks like small hometown movie theater but it has 5 screens and is quite comfortable. Best of all affordable.

They show many movies that are not in all theaters. They are big screens but small cozy rooms. They also have senior discounts.

Went to the movies there recently. This is more of an Art House showing smaller movies and foreign flicks. The theater has been redone but it does not have the recliner seats and what not. They do not sell tickets online either.

Great movie. Love the theater. They always have the best movies The employees are very friendly, the prices at the concessions are fair. If you go on Wednesday movies are $6 all day
