About
Located in Jinja—Uganda’s adventure capital—the Itanda Falls are rapids on the White Nile River, popular for both whitewater rafting and high-level kayaking. It is an alternative to the more popular and powerful Murchison Falls, and Bugjagali Falls, which has become submerged due to dam construction. Marvel at the roaring volume and power of the Nile at this sacred site, where locals come to pray for miracles. There aren’t any facilities at the falls, so come prepared with supplies. Otherwise, sign up for a safari or adventure tour that will take you to the falls from Jinja, and typically includes rafting equipment, meals and entry. – Tripadvisor

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On 1st Oct the entrance fee was increased from $2 to $15. It's a nice place but not worth that much, absolute rip off. Adrift is charging this for nothing. Don't bother.

I did raft the 8 rapids with Nile River Explorers. Fantastic experience with Kibale Tours! This is an activity not to be missed if you visit Uganda

Visited Itanda forest after source of the nile visit. The drive was a bit bumpy but was every bit worth of it. Lovely mesmerizing natural beauty. Options of river rafting is also available and is worth it. We were short on time so just gave it a short visit. Worth visiting when in jinja, 🇺🇬. Cheers🍻.

The falls are beautiful. However, the $15 entrance fee was not worth it. There are no activities or gift shops. You could possibly have a picnic.
It is also quite far from the Jinja city Centre.

The falls are great. The hiking is great. The drive....oh, HECK no! The road sucks in a major way, and once you get there, there's a gate and they're collecting 50,000ugx/$15.00 PER PERSON!!!! HOLY COW MAN, you MUST be kidding. I negotiated the guy to $5.00 per person and it was still a TOTAL RIP-OFF! Plus, the road is so bad I wouldn't drive it if they gave ME $15 per person!

Once you get past the crooks at the gate demanding $15 entry (I refused to pay and gave them 10,000 UGX instead), the falls are quite superb. Brush off the annoying "guide" who wants to show you what your eyes can plainly see and the visit will be peaceful and memorable.

Scary falls but great adventure. It has three parts, easy, medium and hard but your guide should help you navigate your adrenaline/adventure levels quite well. Go for it

Had a great visit here with many surprise attractions. It is about 25 km from the main road, down very rough dirt roads, but worth the journey. The falls are beautiful and the locals will take you on a great tour if you are willing to be open and follow along! The hiking is short but some parts are a little steep. There is a little "pay as you go" along the way, but it is worth it. I would bring the equivalent of $50 USD for the guides/attractions...without spoiling the surprises, a boat ride to a really beautiful, untouched place is provided.
Additionally, had an excellent local tour guide take me through Jinja. His name is Patrick, WhatsApp phone is +256 755 777188. Email is Patrick.sanya@gmail.com.

Hello,
I am not quite sure i understand your question. Itanda Falls is a stunning cataract on The Nile River. It was not affected by the Bujagali Dam. It is still powerful and big volume. There is an entrance fee to visit. Usually there is a guard there to take your money and to keep the place neat and tidy. Challenges in the future will be further dams of the river. I hope that helps
