Easy - moderate hike/walk. Snowshoed this in January. Some slightly steep sections on the Ridge Trail. Wonderful view of frozen lake and Whiteface in the background. Lake Placid & Saranac Lake have a fantastic network of trails around town.

Good for beginner hiking, well maintained trails and gorgeous view of Lake Placid. We encountered several families and dogs out on the trail. Really nice/relaxing outdoor experience.

Beautiful Hiking Trails. It was a little tricky to find, but we managed. The trails are beautiful and the views of Lake Placid are stunning. Our dog enjoyed the walk too!

We have been coming to this area for years and had never done this hike. I loved that it was on the edge of the Lake. It was a beautiful fall day. The trees and smells and views are wonderful. This is an easy hike....More

This is a nice, short, easy walk through the woods and along the lake. The road to the trail was hard to find...it's off 86 near the Quality Inn. The road looks like a driveway and it's right next the sign. You walk down and...More

We enjoyed the Brewster Peninsula trails. Walked to them from out hotel in Lake Placid. Great little hike that took a couple hours. One of the paths follows along Lake Placid, don't miss that one. And make sure you take a map at the entrance.

With a little effort and an easy walk down a relatively flat path, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of Lake Placid Lake. This is definitely worth the time, just make sure you do not over shoot the road -Peninsula Way - from...More

This is one of the few ways left to see the actual lake of Lake Placid. The trails were not superbly-marked, but we found our way around well enough. You can only go around the lake so far in either direction as private property has...More

We had a nice walk in the woods. It was sunny out and the coolness of the woods was refreshing. It was very muddy and wet and lots of tree roots to step over, but so pleasant. Not a lot of people. Would definitely recommend,...More

I believe there are signs saying "no swimming" but I am not positive. There is a dock and the trail is right next to the lake. It is technically private property so please respect the signs.
