- Heddy GMalvern, Pennsylvania587 contributionsMust SeeVery cool visit to see this historical and now practical training facility. Staff was very friendly and gave good advice. Even let us know to hang around a few minutes longer and see some practice jumps take place!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 October 2023
- traveller976Oakville, Canada252 contributionsWorth a visit!!Very cool and interesting experience. We attended as part of the CanAm hockey tournament, and were advised the elevator ride was free… which of course was great news! The gondola was undergoing maintenance when we were there so we didn’t get to ride on it, but it was still worth a visit to see the ski jumps up close.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 28 November 2023
- Tony AtkinsBulls, New Zealand97 contributionsA Jump to Far…A jump to far, what a great complex to visit, very worth while . Would highly recommended. For a facility that has been the site of two Olympic Games this is a very historic facility. We were lucky enough to go when the 80 meter hill was been used for training juniors, what a great spectacle.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 31 December 2023
- Traveler-from-Bmore8 contributionsVery interesting attractionA must see while in Lake Placid. Go on a clear sunny day if possible for the best views. Take the gondola ride up to the first landing area then an elevator to the top of the ski jump for the best views.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 April 2024
- Carsons3Longport, New Jersey85 contributionsA Must see and experienceWell, at first I was hesitant to try the skylift ride to the top and the elevator ride to the start of the jump...I am soooo glad I did. My husband and I throughly enjoyed it and we have tons of extraordinary pictures. The staff was nice, informative and even told us we could come back the next day to watch some jumpers...unfortunately, it was pouring so we didn't make it back to see that, but maybe next time.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 June 2024
- countrytravelers15Lenox, Massachusetts98 contributionsA must see in Lake Placid if they are trainingWe decided to stop here even though it was kind of cloudy and knew it would rain at some point. We told our kids you can't see a ski jump everywhere. We were shocked that we were there when people were actually training. The ride up is nice and quick and then you have the option to take the elevator to the top of the big jump. There is also a platform right at the bottom of the large jump you can stand and watch the jumpers go. Both spots were really cool to see. At the top you are actually behind the jumper so you get to see their point of view. From the platform you see them come down and you can hear them fly right by you. We were lucky because we were there earlier and with the weather there were not many people there. We probably spent and hour and a half here just watching these kids (the one we asked his age was 15) jump off this huge jump. There are also a bunch of chairs at the building at the bottom that you can just sit there and watch the jumpers. You only have to pay if you want to go up to the jump. Would highly recommend at least a quick stop to get up close to these jumps so when you watch the ski jump in the olympics you will have a better idea how far these people are flying.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 July 2024
- Jack K2 contributionsThe Athlete Run ToursThe Olympic Jumping Complex offers athlete led tour of the complex that gives you an immersive experience into the sport of ski jumping and the lives of ski jumpers. Our tour guides Evan Nichols and Henry Johnstone both are former Junior National Team members and current ski jumpers. The completely free tour started with an explanation of how the sport is possible in the summer. Then we headed up the 128 meter ski jumps tour and were greeted with stunning views of the surrounding Adirondack park. They took us right out to where the jumpers start and explained the sport and the stages of a jump. Then we headed down and while one jumper explained the equipment the other went up the jump. To cap off the amazing experience one of the guides took a jump for us. The tour was full of facts and laughs. The guides were very knowledgeable and also eager to share their passion with us. I would recommend this tour to everyone. It is accessible and cheap. You only have to pay for entry into the complete and a ticket up the gondola which was $30 a person. The tours run all summer long Thursday thru Monday. There are are 2 tours a day, one starting at noon, and another at 1pm.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 8 July 2024
- Juliet G176 contributionsInteresting and great Mountain ViewWe paid $20 per person to take the gondola (sky ride) to the top - then it’s a 26 story elevator ride to the top for a nice view of the ski jump. We went over to the coaches viewing platform and We lucked out and saw An athlete do a jump. We also got to see another athlete jump And land in the swimming pool. We did not do the zip lines but we noticed four zip lines in a row and so groups of four could all go at same time. They traveled pretty fast .Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 July 2024
- Bklyn4everWilliamsville, New York43 contributionsGondola and Zip Line are greatThe gondola is ideal for those who want to ascend a peak easily and comfortably. Try it on the clearest day of your stay. The zip line is satisfying for teenagers and other thrill seekers. Both are a good value and memorable for visitors.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 August 2024

The place needs better signage because we might have missed it if we hadn't been looking really hard for it. It's a giant parking lot and you go through it pass a toll booth structure to another parking lot near the main lobby for the activities.
We bought tix online ($45pp) and showed up about 90 minutes early and got right in. You take a gondola ride up the mountain (it moves very, very slowly) and at the base, you can take a windowed elevator up to the top of the ski jump where there's an observation deck. There are two levels, the lower one is small and fenced in and one side was closed. The higher one was outdoors and had a good view of the changing leaves and the ski jumps. Go back down to the base and then climb the tower to the ziplines. They harness you in and down you go. It's only one zipline and it's a 30-40 second ride. It was nice, but I don't think we'd go out of our way to return.
Heard a mountain coaster opened this month (October), so too bad we missed that.

There’s construction going on to improve the complex and not everything is open, but it’s still an awesome thing to see.
It’s a bit confusing since you have to buy a ticket at the bottom and then drive around to the top when the gondola is not running.
Glass elevator to the top of is cool and the sights from the platforms up there are amazing.
Costs $11.... and the construction dude greets you for a little speech before the elevator - assuming that will get more professional when all the construction is done.

While Lake Placid is known for hosting the 1932 and 1980 winter Olympic games, it is still a very active town. One of my all time favorite thrills was visiting the Olympic ski jumps. You can not only see them, but you can ride the elevator to the top and look down the the ski jump and have the same view a ski jumper has. In the fall, they actually practice ski jumping from ceramic pucks built into the ski jump and landing on artificial grass. There's a platform at the bottom of the jump where you can stand and watch. It's amazing to see jumpers launch themselves off of the jump right in front of you. Down below, the free style aerialists are practicing their jumping skills landing is a swimming pool. Ski's boots and all. If you are in the area, you have to make this a must do stop.

Olympic Ski Jump Complex was an amazing adventure. Very clean and well kept.
All staff and visitors wore their mask.
The elevator up to the top of the ski jump was clean and well maintained and there was staff member manning the elevator and maintaining social distancing.
The view from the top was incredible. Certainly gives you a different perspective of the ski jump then when you watch it on TV for the Olympics.
It was fun watching three young kids taking lessons on Ski Jumping additionally we saw other skiers practicing jumps, flips, twists, and turns on skis then landing in a pool of water.
Highly recommend visiting the Olympic Ski Jump Complex.

We really knew nothing of ski-jumping and I feel we have a better appreciation for it now. The staff members helping with the gondola loading and unloading provided a substantial amount of information in addition to what was officially provided.
Once to the top (which is quite) you get a beautiful view of the Adirondacks and Lake Placid (which by itself is worth the price of admission). I don't like exposed height very much, but wasn't really bothered here as it was generally well enclosed.
The hill is under construction, which was interesting to see as it is a pretty impressive engineering feat. We also saw some freestylers practicing with pool landings - which was neat to see.

We had been to Lake Placid, and the ski jump, before and were very impressed. Back then, you just viewed it from the ground, and that was worth a visit. Now that you can ride to the top of the jump, it's a must-see.
This must be a relatively new feature, because the lift looks like it's brand new. The attendants at the bottom and the top were both very friendly and helpful. The guy at the top challenged us to "ask me anything!"
The view from the top is amazing and terrifying. You can stay inside and look out the windows, or go outside right next to the ramp where the jumpers start. It was amazing.

We visited with our kids, ages 6, 13 & 16. The teens loved the zip line (you need to reserve ahead bc it was sold out). You can take a quick gondola ride & then an elevator to the top of the ski jump. Our youngest was bored but the rest of us enjoyed it. I loved watching skiers practicing tricks into a pool. Note- this is a different gondola ride than the one at Whiteface. I accidentally booked half of us on the Whiteface one 🤦🏼♀️

We always enjoy touring the Olympic sites when possible. We visited early August 2020, and we were able to drive up and walk around the public areas of the ski jump complex. There was the option to buy tickets to either ride the gondola or do the zipline, but we opted to enjoy touring around and seeing the site. The ski jumps appear to be well maintained, and we got to view a private lesson in the pool area of kids/teens practicing ski jumps into the deep pool well. Easy quick visit and fun to see!

We paid the $20 for the gondola ride to the base of the ski jumps and spent about 45 minutes up top getting the the top of the jumps and taking pictures. It was so interesting to see and well worth the time. the only regret I have to not paying the extra money to do the zip line back down to the bottom. Maybe next time!

We were in town to see the Olympic Venues, but much of the town was under construction b/c of upcoming 2023 World University Games. The ski jump area was open for elevator tours - pretty cool. Great views from the top - can't imagine jumping! I think it was $10 per person to go up.
Not sure the zip line thing would be worth the money (they were testing it when we visited - but there is an actual zipline place nearby if you are looking for fun)

How early should u arrive for Ariel show day? And how difficult to get tube times?

Not sure about the show you are referring to; also not sure about tube times. You might want to reach out directly to the complex on those questions

where do you get a pass for all Olympic sites? cost? any discounts available anywhere?
Written 8 December 2015
There are many places throughout the village that you can get passes. We bought ours at the ski jump complex. I believe the cost was $35.00 per person. I thought that was quite reasonable for what you can do. In addition to the venues that are included with the pass, you also get discounts to other attractions with the pass.
