Their tej' is unbeatably delicious (dry and not so sweet!). Their food is scrumptious. And their live entertainment is enchanting! What a blast we had! Thank goodness my guide Desale (Happy) brought me here. We ate, drank and danced and had a unforgettable time. In...More

A very popular bar with locals and foreigners alike where you can try authentic Tej: local honey wine. Lalibela is the home of Tej and so this is the best place to indulge in this experience. Made with local red honey it is brewed almost...More

I visited Torpedo on a Saturday evening and it was very popular with tourists from overseas and from other parts of Ethiopia. The honey wine was really tasty and very different from the one I tried in Addis Ababa. The best part though was the...More

I owe this experience to my excellent guide, Addisalem Berhanu (ask for him by name...the locals will know where he is). Warm and friendly, while remaining extremely professional and organized, Addisalem will ensure that...More

This made my trip amazing. Everyone at this place was nice and friendly. The music was great, the staff were all beautiful inside and out. You'd think in a town of 20-30,000 residents things might not be that exciting, but this place was fuego! Buy...More

It was an amazing experience to see the dancing and azmari music here. The dancing of both the performers and the customers is jaw-dropping. Very authentic and local (much more so than in the cultural shows in Addis). Even though it was midweek, it was...More

Stopped by for a tej in the late afternoon. Nice place, was really quiet at that time. Can imagine that in evenings you can have a party here. Tej was really good, tasty.
