We took the trail from the Pilot Knob trailhead, where we had no trouble finding parking on a summer weekday at 930 am. This longer trail is 6.6 miles roundtrip, but less steep than the shorter trail on the other side of the mountain. No...More

We climbed the mountain and had a fantastic view of Lake George. We are in very good shape but were a bit winded by the time we got to the top. In fairness it was almost 90 and very humid. The trail is very well...More

This is a very popular hike, with great views of Lake George from the top. There are two trails to the top, the trip from the east is shorter. Both are moderate hikes, and make sure you bring water. If you want an easier hike...More

The top of the road on Buck Mtn has a viewing area with charm and visual rewards. It can be accessed youar around by Bike, hiking, car or snowmobile. The long sreep road is challanging but pretty. Especially in October when the leaves are changing.

The trail to Buck Mountain Summit takes about three hours round trip, and is almost seven miles, but the spectacular view at the summit makes it all worth it.

My best childhood memories include being at Camp Chingachgook and hiking trails like this. The view at the top is very beautiful. A bit steep at times and rocky. Some pools of water sometimes form at the top after heavy rains. Great hike if you...More
