The highlight of this park probably is the swimming lake under the waterfall. It's a great place for young and old people to hangout and relax.

Loved, loved, loved our hike. Did the gorge and rim trails. If you have a couple of hours recommend doing the entire two trails. If you have less time start at the upper parking and do the shorter loop.

We visited on Sat Aug 6. We hiked the loop and altogether it was a little over 5 miles. We took the Gorge Trail up, then the Rim Trail back and they were equally strenuous. I used trekking poles and on the muddy ground (there...More

We started at the top and walked down. SO beautiful. Take time to sit along the way and just enjoy nature and the peacefulness. About half way down we decided that we were not all going to walk back up the trail to the car....More

The lower falls has a swimming area that is wonderful. Life Guards, diving board, area's roped off for different levels of swimming and you can swim and stand by the falls. Two of us braved the water and it was 72 degrees. Walking in the...More

My wife and I were staying about 3 miles from this charming state park. It is a must see if you are in the area. Take the lower trail and see as much of the gorge and as many of the falls as you want.

A word of warning. Android phone GPS using google maps apparently doesn't know where the entrance is. Follow the signs you see. This is easily the second most trafficked state park in the Ithaca area. This was our last full day in Ithaca and we...More

The gorge hike is great. We went first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds and were very happy we did. We finished off the hike with a swim in the lake which is beautiful. When we were leaving the park around noon there...More

For a while, part of the upper trail at Treman State Park was closed. I am curious to know, as of September, 2016, if it is open again. Also, if it is open again, would you recommend by doing the step side of the trail, or the forest side of the trail, first.

I believe both were open. We really enjoy the step side of the trail. I think the views of the falls are much prettier. There are quite a few stairs, but there are many places to stop & rest on the way back up if necessary... More

Here's a phone number for a local transportation company: (607) 277-RIDE (That's 277-7433). They list the park as one of their stops but I'm not sure how it works with their schedules. The park is worth the effort to get... More
