Lively Run Goat Dairy is one of the longest operating commercial goat dairies in the country, beginning production in New York State in 1982 and pioneering goat cheese in the American marketplace. The entire Messmer family works to continue the mission of bringing to the Finger Lakes region healthy, sustainable and delicious goat cheese. Come visit the farm, get a tour, see our baby goats in the spring, eat some cheese cake, and most importantly - try our cheese!

My husband and I stopped here to do a cheese tasting. All the cheese were delicious (we bought a few) and it was very inexpensive-I think it is $3 per person for 10 tastes. It's a quick stop - that I highly recommend - if...More

Pleasantly surprised by this stop along the wine/beer tasting trail. The cheese samples were not only plentiful but absolutely delish--along with local jams and honey as compliments. Our host was most gracious, professional, welcoming and knowledgeable. The variety of cow's milk and goat's milk cheeses...More

Wonderful place couples, friends or families. Fantastic cheeses with an outstanding tasting. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Bonus is to visit the goats and their kids. Lots of fun. Don't miss this dairy, the experience is terrific.

We liked the cheese. Portion was kind of small. The place was authentic and not exactly spic and span. We recommend it anyway.

We had a great time! Although goat cheese is my favorite so I may be bias. But what's better than getting to play with baby goats and tasting so much cheese?!

Stopped in on our way back from hiking Taughannock Falls. We were surprised to find that there was a cheese tasting available instead of just a little dairy where you could purchased cheese. They provided a nice array of all the different cheeses they offer,...More
