This place is situated in the heart of the old city. It has history and lots of information about different important historical figures in Mexico.

The Museo Regional is a must visit when in Querétaro, you can see the history of the region since the Spanish conquest until early 20th Century.

The Regional Museum was terrific. It runs the gamut of Mexican and Queretaro history, begins with Pre-hispanic periods and running to the present day. The temporary exhibit on corn is excellent. The museum is housed in a beautiful former convent which is worth seeing just for itself. We spent several hours there, those with less interest in history might spend less... More

Learning about the early history of the region of the valleys, hills and sierra of Queretaro State was the best reason to spend a couple of hours in this well-lit museum. Signs are Spanish only but there's plenty to entertain, just looking. Enjoyed a special exhibit on the importance of corn to the indigenous culture, with a very informative section... More

We were walking by and there was a christmas market on the central patio of the museum. They invited us in and were welcome to walk around the museum while looking at the handicrafts. I was very interested to learn that there are guided tours during the evening to learn about the history of the museum and it's surroundings and... More

While there we just toured the area and lots to do and see, as Mexico has so much history as no matter where you go this is something you will enjoy doing, with friends and family. The local are also great to inter-act with and just lots to see and read about.

The permanent collection of art is ok, but the temporary exhibition on corn was fantastic. The housing of the museum in an old monastery is an attraction itself.

If you're downtown in the historic district you're likely to come across this Museum. It is worth a quick visit. It was formerly a convent in the augustinian tradition. Later the government took it and turned it into a military headquarters. The architecture is stunning. The reason I rated as three stars is there is very little to see. they... More

The entrance tickets are super cheap. The museum is pretty big. It has a gallery with modern art (paintings), but you can also learn a lot of history of Queretaro and its region. I loved orange trees in patio and a fountain. Very charming place. *no labels\ descriptions in English though*
