What a cool place to stop. Be sure you're dressed comfortably for the weather. They rent all of the equipment needed. I suggest gloves and safety glasses. You should have good luck finding Herkimer Diamonds here since it's still an active mine unlike the KOA...More

They will supply you with all the tools you need, but a few extra items would be helpful. I recommend stout boots, sunscreen, knee pads, a big hat, work gloves, water, and some non-steroid anti-inflammatory. Perhaps a camp stool. And someone to hold a parasol...More

They are closed for this season but open April 1,2017 and hours are 9-5 according to their website. They operate April 1 to October 31. Google it for more information.
