This was our second stay in Mana Pools, this time we stayed at Mucheni 4, with a camp operated by Tailormade Safaris in a stay organized by a private guide. The location was quite nice, though being October it was incredibly hot, though the amazing sighting and natural beauty of the park made up for it. If going on your... More

We stayed at the New BBC camp which was a superb location. Lots of shade and space for at least 6 tents. Plenty of game to watch - lots of adrenaline rushes too!.. the animals make their way to the river and the lions roar close to you in the night. This is surely the best camp as the main... More

Our 4th year in a row... we truly love Mana Pools! We have stayed at most camp sites. We enjoy the exclusive camp sites more as we like to be part of nature without engine sounds and it being just us & nature. Unfortunately some Tour operators keep driving into exclusive "private" campsites which take away a lot of the... More

Just returned from 3 nights at Zambezi Expeditions (Part of African Bush Camps) followed by 3 nights at Kanga (see separate review). Flew from Kariba to Mana West (There was a bit of a mix up on which airstrip but it was sorted brilliantly and even gave us the chance to see Rukomechi Camp and a pride of Lionesses and... More

We were in tents fully exposed by the river. We could see the stars through the roof netting and hippos and elephants walked close by the tent. The accommodation was very basic including bucket showers but the staff and food rivalled a good hotel. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Scenery was stunning across the river. The experience was to... More

African Bush Camps offered us a deal : 2 days at Kanga and 3 days at Zambezi Expeditions. Well, if this is ever offered to you : take the offer ! Doing so allows to see 2 different sides of mana pools. The thick, lush green bush at Kanga and the more open areas of the Zambezi. This is a... More

We – 2 couples - stayed 3 nights at Zambezi Expeditions (formerly known as Zambezi Lifestyle), another member of the African Bush Camp group, at Mana Pools. Regi, another guide of Kanga Camp dropped us at a central point between Kanga and Zambezi Expeditions, where our guide, Cloud, for the following 3 days, was waiting for us. At camp, we... More

I have re-written my description of Mana Pools several times because it is almost unexplainable to describe. There is nothing more exhilarating than feet on the ground tracking elephant, leopard, lion or hyena. I cannot thank Humphrey Gumpo and his team at Tailor-made enough for their expertise on setting up and serving from their mobile tent site at both Macheni... More

I have been re-writing my description of Mana Pools because it is almost inexplainable in its beauty and accessibility. I went with Tailor-made Safaris which sets up a mobile tent site along the river or in Chitake Springs (which I also visited) and they do a phenomenal job. To be on foot and in the shadows of elephants, hyena, lion,... More
