This was my second time hiking this mountain. It’s fairly steep hike in the beginning, but you will get rewarded with some amazing views, especially if you will make to the top of the fire watch tower. I would rate it 5 stars, but I’m...More

If you like hikes and great views this is a good one. It was rated 5.7 out of 10 and now I know why. The view was the only good part. The path to the tower is a steep rocky trek. We knew we were...More

We climbed to the top of Mount Beacon in Fishkill yesterday, a round trip hike of about four miles, with excellent views, and easy to moderate hiking. Mt. Beacon is the Highest Peak in the Hudson Highlands. We passed the old casino ruins, incline railway...More

Mount Beacon is a trail that is clearly marked, moderate in climbing and easy to get to. The views are great so bring a snack and relax at the top for awhile. A nice way to start a Sunday morning in the Spring and Fall!

It was a good home and it could be done on many different levels. You can take your time and go slowly making stops after every hill. Or you can get your running gear on and try to run all the way to the top....More

Mount Beacon offers tremendous views of the Hudson Valley for those who can brave the steep incline of the casino trail. Don't be daunted ! This climb may be challenging for novice hikers, but before long (about 1 hour reasonable pace with stops) you'll be...More

I've found a few trails on Beacon Mountain where you can strip down and enjoy nature in the buff. You will need to look for unmarked trails and keep an eye out for other hikers as the attraction can draw a decent crowd on a...More

Well, a helicopter ride would be one way -- if you can afford it. There are mountain bike trails if you can ride a bike -- ATVs are prohibited. Here's an enthusiast's account of the biking trails, some very easy, although... More

Mount beacon is opened seven days a week. As the weather gets better and better the parking becomes a little harder to find at the base especially on the weekends. Enjoy!!!
