This beach is far less crowded than Jones Beach. It is also much cleaner than the other large ocean beaches on Long Island. Best of all, free admission after 4pm. FYI - There is a great pitch & putt golf course here.

Awesome beaches at Robert Moses but we visited the Lighthouse. You have to park at Field 5 and walk 2/3 mile to the Lighthouse. On the way, you may see wildlife up close (we saw a deer, a turtle and a fox). The walk is...More

The park is part of the Fire Island Seashore. Closer to New York City and also serving Long Islanders it tends to be crowded and is accessible by car, bus and Long Island Railroad. There is a large public pool as well as the Atlantic...More

Visited for the first time. The beach was clean, not crowded, and had plenty of nearby parking. Parking costs $10.00. Not too bad for the quality of the beach. Lifeguards on duty during swimming hours. There are a number of "fields" to choose from. We...More

If you can't unwind at home hope over on the ferry and let the sound of lapping waves melt all your cares away. Bring your beach essentials and some money for food.

Beautiful sublime "hidden gem" of beaches on the shores of Long Island a stones throw from Fire Island and the Lighthouse. Since you've past Jones beach on the way you will find it less crowded less crazy and more of a demure and serene outing....More

I prefer this beach over Jones Beach any day of the week. Much cleaner and not as crowded than Jones Beach. Come after 4pm and get in for free.
