We went off season so there was no charge to get in & no lifeguards, but the rest rooms were open & clean. There are however several rusty barriers on the beach that were exposed. Be careful as rip currents were very strong!

First time here and surprised at the size and quality of the beach! Lots of people but plenty of space. Nice boardwalk area to walk or bike. Easy to get to by bus which comes every 10 minutes. Lots of parking too.

Whit's End Restaurant and Riis Point Bar are excellent venues and are opened year round. The beach is incredibly beautiful this time of year and the views of both Sandy Hook and the surrounding Jersey shore are picture perfect,

I'm honestly not sure but you can check with the NYC department of parks. they'll have an updated lifeguard and beach availability schedule. The Riis park golf course is open though.

I believe it is still open. There were no lifeguards when we were there last month. Check their website. Have fun!
