Millard Fillmore was the 13th president of the United States serving between 1826 and 1830. Auroraeans are proud that we shared in the young adult life of Millard Fillmore and his wife Abigail. We feel honored to have the Millard and Abigail Fillmore House designated as a National Historic Landmark and hope that you will enjoy coming to visit.

Took a day trip to the absolutely lovely little town of East Aurora, and on a whim visited the Millard Fillmore Museum. Fascinating information and so much to see. Despite its small size, the tour was a good length, chock full of information. With items...More

Following the Presidential trail this was a must stop. Typical type home with several tour guides. Biggest problem is very restricted hours to visit, so plan ahead.

This small cottage is along the 6 mile walk route which goes through town. They offer a guided tour through the home set with period furnituire from when Fillmore was President. There is also a beautiful small garden around the side of the property.

Lovely little house run by the local historical society where they have gathered as much Fillmore furniture as anywhere. More story telling that artifacts but very well done and worth a stop for those who made a practice of visiting presidential sites.

You'll hear nothing about Fillmore as president (a slight disappointment)--it's all about the house and the time he and his family lived here. What amazed me is how people in this time period were able to be reasonably comfortable in such a small space (some...More

Millard Fillmore. There are four stops on the tour, and they each contain items previously owned by the former president. On the day we visited there were four docents, and they varied greatly in their presentation quality. The presentation in the front where we received...More

I was able to arrange a private tour on a Friday. Docent Kathy was very informative and friendly. We were able to play Millard's daughter's piano and had our picture taken with a life-sized cutout of President Fillmore. The guide directed questions towards our son...More

We, too, tried to visit... Emailed earlier in the day to see if we could get a special tour since we weren't sure we'd get there by 4:00. Didn't hear back (until the next day), so cut out other planned stops to make it in...More

I don't think most people know about Millard Fillmore. He's not on any of the currency, and he wasn't in office for very long, and he was a member of the now-extinct Whig party. The museum doesn't have very long hours. We went on Saturday...More
