This isn't nearly as exciting as say being about to walk into one of the Founding Fathers' houses in Virginia, but it is a nice local show and discuss local history tour. Van Cortlandt Host nice family oriented events including the Fourth of July Weekend with "old time" type of fun (kids can play with hoops and sticks, watch "Punch... More

The multiple events staged at Historic Hudson Valley properties make a family membership a great thing to have. Blaze is the annual October event held at Van Cortlandt Manor. Just as Lightscapes presents an extravaganza of lights mid-summer, Blaze involves 5000 pumpkins, a thousand of which are carved fresh every week. Lots of volunteers working hard to keep the pumpkins... More

If you have the chance to visit Van Cortlandt Manor for the annual Blaze festival, do so! You will see thousands of hand-carved pumpkins in glorious Halloween-themed displays, various autumnal foods and beverages, and an extensive gift shop. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance, because there you cannot purchase them on site. Will happily return in the future!

This was our first visit to the Blaze and we were not disappointed! We (hubby, son, son's friend 13yo) were mesmerized by the display of endless jack o lanterns. These are not your typical carved pumpkins. There is a "sea of fish" just under the "Tappan Blaze bridge" with a full grave yard of life sized skeletons, spider webs and... More

What a great activity for children during the Halloween season! Hats off to the men and women who worked hard on the pumpkins. I think this will be an annual event for my family!

First time going, but it will be a tradition going forward. Very well done and managed. Could use a few smaller groups in the time slots as it was pretty jammed, but wasn't awful.

You must see this place to believe how beautiful and creative it is. We heard it was fantastic and we loved it. Appropriate for small children, not at all scary unlike most Halloween attractions.

Each year Historic Hudson Valley creates an evening display of lights at the Van Cortlandt Manor. Best to book tickets online for after dark and arrive 15-20 minutes early to allow time for parking. The event is exceptionally well staffed and organized, and tickets are for timed entry, enabling thousands of people to flow through the display comfortably spaced and... More

The tour of the Manor and the Ferry House lasted about 90 minutes. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and was able to answer visitor's questions. There is free parking and tickets can be purchased online in advance of your tour. Even in late August the grounds were covered with artificial pumpkins in anticipation of the Blaze. Many of...
