Nice well maintained trails to walk and learn a little local history. There is a large parking lot with restrooms and trail maps. The park is undergoing some renovations to bring back it's history and make it an educational destination. There are posts along the...More

Wandering around the Foundry was a great way to spend a morning but don't expect an exhausting hike. It's a very nice walk around the old Foundry grounds with the occasional marker you can check on the app. I do wish the app had more...More

A visit back in time and a great hike all in one. Scenic Hudson has done a great job interpreting the foundry site and making it accessible to all. Come and enjoy the rustic charm of the past at the banks of the Hudson River.

Thoughtfully-produced historical exhibits--just the right amount to make you feel like you can tell the story after you've visited. Each spot on the trail offers an opportunity to visualize the industrial history. The sycamores, deer, and migrating warblers have taken over, but the human past...More

I've been seeing the trail from the Metro-North train, so I decided to check it out. My assessment is that this park is more for history lovers than chiefly outdoorsy folks. The Preserve itself isn't very extensive, although the trail along the marsh is great...More

Another historic gem on the Hudson. The foundry preserve was a bustling center of activity making ammunition for West Point, but not much more than a few buildings and foundations remain now as the forest has reclaimed the site. If you are in a hurry...More

This place was the perfect tonic after two days of traffic congestion throughout the Hudson Valley. It truly is a hidden gem. We planned to visit the Perkins Tower at Bear Mountain first and then head to the foundry preserve. The tower drive was closed...More

There is a nice picnic area, near a stream in a shady wooded area where the family can chill while others go exploring. I think the week ends it can get crowded so you may want to get there earlier.
