Nice Waterfall

This is a waterfall that's a 15 mile ride from Albany and has a waterfront path. There is a sign in front indicating how it is used for hydroelectric power.

Especially in the Spring this is a gorgeous site, with rushing waters tumbling over the rocks. A short drive from almost anywhere, it is nature at Her best! It is steeped in history, just check out the description at Wikipedia. The falls are at the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers. AND, there is a plaque nearby noting the... More

Very pleased to see what has been done with this area to bring the people of Cohoes back to the falls and River that helped make it the once bustling Mill city that it was...

Without rain you see the boulders. After a heavy storm, the water comes cascading down. Several places to view the falls and a cice parking lot and walking trail. Bring your camera.

Left the Cohoes Music Hall and stopped at the falls lookout. Great view of the falls. Really great to go after a huge rain storm to really see the water raging. Great photo opportunities.

I was actually doing a geocache challenge and did not expect to find such a beautiful waterfall in the area. The park was well maintained and there were few visitors during the time I was there. This was great as I could take my time shooting pictures from various angles and enjoying the park and views at a leisurely pace!

Beautiful falls in a small park area. Nice pathway and stairs on the way down. There were some people out there fishing but not sure how they got out there. The gates were locked in the side we came in.

We stopped here with our Grand daughter and Great Grand Daughter on a beautiful warm summer evening to enjoy the falls and the related bird life.

I have taken dozens of friends to see these falls, second only to Niagara in NY state, considered to be the "Eastern door to the Iroquois nation (Niagara is the western one). A couple of football field lengths in width. Visit after a big rain for the full effect!
