Letchworth State Park, the "Grand Canyon of the East," is where a 17-mile stretch of the Genesee River roars through the park's scenic gorge with three major waterfalls and cliffs as high as 600 feet, surrounded by lush forests. Recently named Best State Park in the nation, Letchworth's new Humphrey Nature Center is a must-see. Walk the seven-mile Gorge Trail with jaw-dropping views at the overlooks or take the trail to the water's edge. I addition to trails, several hundred campsites and cabins, other amenities and activities include a pool, playground, athletic fields, festivals, cultural events, history and performing arts programs, guided walks, whitewater rafting, and hot-air ballooning.

Last weekends, we camped there for 2 days, and hiked for couples of hours. The camping site is clean and spacious, hiking is fairly easy and view is great. Overall, I will recommend this place.

Want to have a view of 100 foot waterfalls, learn about a woman who carried her baby 600 miles, or see an enormous mastodon head? They are all at Letchworth. Magical place. I love it.

The vastness, the variety of landscapes, the amenities (including a proposed nature trail designed for visitors on the autism spectrum), the cleanliness, and the friendliness of people throughout the park make this the #1 tourist destination in all of New York State. No exaggeration.

My sister and I stayed at a resort close to Letchworth for a week. We spent 2 days of the week here. The upper falls and trails associated with it were closed for bridge building so we didn't have a chance to venture that far,...More

I got in contact with someone who works at the park and he said they don't rent bikes. You could check with the bike shop I near by Geneseo NY to see if they do,
