We had a very nice wine tasting experience. Atwater is one of a handful of wineries producing nice wines with the FLX varietals and should be a definite stop for anyone serious about wine. We especially liked the Big Blend red and the Bubble was a fun drink. Recommended.

Atwater is about 85% to 90% self sufficient from our own farm. We do sell grapes to local wineries as well as that last 10% to 15% needed from local Seneca Lake vineyards. We are proud to have the ability to have our wines produced from 100% Seneca Lake grapes. The grapes are the first step to producing quality wines.... More

We stopped here on our wine tour. The first thing we noticed was how friendly and inviting the staff was to us. The lady that poured our tasting was very knowledgeable about the wines she was serving and it was TRUE knowledge not that memorized routine that you will find with some of the younger perky servers. It was refreshing... More

Thank you for your review. We have some great staff here that knows so much about the wine and area and love to share it with our guests. Sticking to a script for tastings is boring for us as well as the customer. I think traveling the Finger Lakes during the slow season provides many opportunities for guests to experience... More

Have been coming here for a few years now. Usually get a case when we visit of various wines. Rieslings mostly but Lemberger(Blaufrankisch) and as of late Blanc de Blanc as well. We particularly fond of the Celsius and Fahrenheit desert wines.

Wow, what a great smattering of wine choices. Sounds like it could be a great dinner party at your house or just a nice selection to ease you through winter. As for the dessert wines, it is always a lively debate on which is better, the Celsius or Fahrenheit. Luckily I don't have to choose as they are always at... More

This vineyard was one of 4 we visited on a short weekend during our stay in the region. It stood out among the best 2 for its atmosphere, quality of wines and staff. We were here during the 'Deck the Halls' weekend but were not part of it, so it was busy, but the staff took appropriate time with us... More

This was 2x time here & it was even better than the first time. We enjoyed the sparkling wines along with red wines. We had very informative pourer which made our visit a pleasant one.

I'm glad you enjoyed both of your visits. Our winemaker, Vinny does an amazing job with all of our wines, but our reds and sparkling wines are stand outs. We were recently written up as one of the top 5 red wine producers in the Finger Lakes. Hope to see you on your next visit. More

My wife and I stopped at Atwater while on vacation. We both agree, Atwater was our favorite of all the vineyard we visited on Seneca Lake. They offered everything important to us. First off, Nancy was our wine tasting server and she was Awesome!! Very Friendly and knowledgeable about not only the wines but also the things to do in... More

We actually found this place by accident. My Mother-in-law pulled in to turn around, thinking it was a private driveway, however, we though, hey seen how we are here, lets check it out! We went in, and even though we were in the building at 4:57pm, they STILL allowed us to do a tasting! Because of that, we tasted GREAT... More

I am so glad that you found us. There are a lot of wineries on Seneca Lake to chose from, all offering different experiences. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience. As long as you are in the doors by closing, we welcome you to taste. With many cold days to come, I'm sure that mulled wine kit... More

If you get the brochure for Watkins Glen (we got ours at the Ithaca Visitor Center) you will find a coupon for a free wine tasting (for one) at Atwater Vineyards. It was well worth the short side trip. The tasting was friendly and the wines were tasty. While the tasting was reasonably priced (free is better than reasonable, of... More

Hello Bob. I'm glad that you made the side trip to Atwater. Sometimes the unexpected stops really pay off. I'm happy that you found our wines tasty and hope that you were able to find some you liked to take home with you for future enjoyment. With our wines ranging from $10 to $30 I find that we are moderately... More

Of all the wineries on the finger Lakes this is my most favorite winery to go to, have some wine and meet people from all over the US , purchase a glass of wine and sit out on the veranda which has a commanding view of Seneca lake , totally relaxing

I completely agree with you. Atwater is the perfect place to sit with a glass and relax. As the weather starts to get chilly you can also enjoy the same views from inside the winery with our huge windows overlooking the lake. You can also go to atwatervineyards.com and watch our live webcam for all the sunsets and snow days... More

The views are fantastic and the wine is even better! Their chard is excellent. We bought a bottle a few years ago and bought 3 this past trip. Def stop here, the staff is also really great.
