More
De Krans Wine Cellar is situated along the upper reaches of the picturesque Gamka River Valley near Calitzdorp. The history of the farm dates back to 1890, when it was bought by the Nel family. Since 1985, most of the classic Portuguese port and wine varieties have been planted. De Krans is widely known as one of the leading port producers, as well as one of the most innovative cellars in South Africa. The Farm offers daily wine tasting, a country style bistro and a deli offering products either produced on the farm or sourced from local artisans.

A group of Tourism Professionals recently undertook a wine tasting trip to Calitzdorp and De Krans were one of our stops. Well worth a visit, friendly service, lovely setting especially since the fruit trees are in bloom! Try the Sauvignon Blanc - my favorite!

We had such a wonderful afternoon at the Cellar. The platters are great and good wines. The atmosphere in the garden under the grape wines is just what we wanted. The staff and service also great.

Friendly staff and excellent wines. They now have a bistro as well as their wine tasting cellar. Wines are of Portuguese origin and are fairly unique in South Africa.
