Impressive old hacienda - an adobe homestead -which is divided into about twenty rooms all with a theme, such as religious icons and dolls, weaving etc. These all belonged to the fairly rich, trading family who lived here in the early 19th century

We always stop at the visitor center every trip to Taos and we visit 3-4x every year from Santa Fe and always are learning new things from the displays and volunteers in the center.

There is much to learn during a visit to the hacienda. I went on a day when there were only two other people visiting. It made for an excellent visit. It was very quiet allowing me to imagine what life then would have been like.

We spent about an hour here enjoying the very beautiful and quiet location. Exploring the many different rooms and reflecting on how life must have been back in Colonial days was a unique experience.

Lots of reviews say "must see". Go if you have some free time. Interesting but wouldn't plan my day around it.
