This circular drive in Northern New Mexico has great views and some of the neatest small towns you will find anywhere along with three of the greatest ski areas in New Mexico.

A lovely circle to make through mesas, forests, and alpine meadows. Can be icy in winter, but plenty of snow for skiers. A must-see is the Vietnam Memorial in Angel Fire. Beyond gorgeous and very informative and moving.

We were expecting a spectacular drive. It was a nice drive, but we were expecting more because of all we'd read about it. We enjoyed the town of Angel Fire and the Vietnam Memorial was very touching.

An 80+ mile ride that offers many interesting and majestic vistas. You also pass through some interesting towns and very quiet fields.

It takes a couple of hours but the scenery is worth it. We went during the prime of the aspen turning. Spectacular!

Yesterday (September 29) we spent several hours taking a leisurely drive to view the fall color - the aspens are yellow now and particularly striking, and there were not too many drivers on the road. It's definitely better to drive counter-clockwise from Taos. The most...More
