Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went with the kids to do a bit of camping and let me tell you the new manager Johan Palm does an amazing job. This place is going to get better with him looking after the place!

As this has popped up as a place we visited during our time in the Klaserie, I’ll simply add that as part of a dream holiday with Africa on Foot, seeing the variety of wildlife using the watering holes meets every expectation you would have of a watering hole. Seeing 23 wild dogs, rhino, buffalo, lion, and the plethora of birds is truly moving. Beg, borrow, steal, buy, take.... as good a camera as you can. Invest in the best you can, you won’t regret it.

This camp site is set on a partition of land cutting in to the dam. Wonderful location and views over the dam and the sunsets over the Drakensburg Mountains are what South African dreams are made of. Some investment in the ablutions would be great but don't let that stop you from a visit. Do not confuse with Klaserie Karavan Park.

Camping on the banks of the Klaserie dam under the shade of the gorgeous overhanging trees was a real treat.
Well managed ablutions and friendly management enhanced the experience.
A short drive from the Kruger Park's Orpen Gate.

The luxury of visiting the Krueger on a private game reserve without finding a crowded number of cars or jeep surrounding. We didn't meet any other car during our safaris in 4 days !

Went to the Dam a couple times during a game drive with Amani. We loved the resident hippos, especially when the big one was resting her head on another hippo.

We visited the dam late afternoon when it started to get dark, and we could just see the crocodiles on the moves. It was especially exiting to see the hypos frolicking.

A nice watering hole area to rest at and view the wildlife. This was a stop with our guided service where we stopped for an evening drink.

We took it as a detour and found people fishing and just passing time away in silence. While it was calming, just like other big water bodies but we did not particularly enjoy this place. Don't include it as part of safari, just go there if you are on a roadtrip.
