Very beautiful lake. We took the trail around it with a toddler in the back carrier. The trail is easy to moderate in some places. There was lots of people fishing, and a few on small boats in the lake.

Hadn’t been up to the lake before our recent visit to Ruidoso. Pretty easy find. Parking is plentiful. Lots of area to fish from the banks. People were also using kayaks on the water. Plenty of hiking trails around.

The hiking is great and the lake is even better! Kayaks, canoes and paddle boards for rent. Throw a line in and catch a fish ( stocked lake!), or take a little swim! The lake is pristine!

We hiked around the lake and thoroughly enjoyed the views, the fresh air, and the beautiful scenery. Well worth taking the time to visit this lake!

My husband and I went to the lake mid morning to do some hiking. It’s very easy hiking with some hills. Not very many wildflowers but have wildlife to enjoy. Will go back to do more hiking.

Nice area. Caught a few trout. Hiking was an adventure but not over strenuous. Wildlife, cool breeze, but watching

Yes you do need a NM Fishing license. You can purchase a temporary one ( 7 days I think) on line or at Walmart.
