We were looking for fry bread for our kids to try on a recent trip. I remember as a kid being able to find it on roadside stands but no longer. However, on the Mescalero Apache Reservation there is a small cafe called E. LA...More

There is nothing really to see at the Apache Reservation, it was a wasted trip. It's about a 20 mile drive from Ruidoso and there wasn't really anything there, no teepee's or anything to view.

A very nice hotel overlooking the lake with a championship golf course. Staff was friendly and accommodating. On the main floor were exhibits of clothing that the Mescalero Apache, men and women, wore and dioramas with detailed histories of the area. Everywhere were Native artwork...More

When you enter the Mescalero Apache Reservation you are greeted by murals done by tribal citizens. These murals dipict the history of the tribe that had the entire U.S Army chasing them up and down into Mexico and New Mexico; it also honors many tribal...More

We traveled through the Mescalero Apache Reservation, but only stopped at the Inn of the Mountain Gods for lunch. The Reservation has beautiful mountains and a lake. This place is a hotel, casino, and music venue. As far as entertainment, I think this is it...More

The drive through the Mescalero Apache Reservation was very beautiful! We had gone to the Inn of the Mountain Gods for brunch and it was delicious and reasonably priced. The Inn was beautiful. On the reservation, there was some signs of poverty, but overall the...More

An interesting place to spend a little bit of time, but wouldn't really go out of my way. If you're driving on your way to Alamogordo, probably 50/50 if it's worth a stop. The drive down is beautiful, forests are well manicured and generally healthy,...More

We enjoyed attending the rodeo, and of course the fry bread. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

Loved everything about it. I wish the Inn of the Mountain Gods had not become a Casino. We don't go there anymore, but used to love it.
