Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ran into another couple from home ( Dallas ) and laughed and had drinks. The bar and bartenders were awesome!

I started with a Blood Orange Cider made out of Austin and it was delicious. Not too sweet. Then I went with the Mad Chile Burger with Batter fried hatch chile, chipotle dijon, toasted brioche bun. I asked for the Green Chile’s on the side. The burger was huge and cooked to order. A little heat from the fried chili, but absolutely delicious. There was also live music on the patio at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Wish I’d had more time for a few more ciders and to enjoy the music longer!

Tempted to leave after 20 minute wait then they messed up our order and that was a long wait too. Food was mediocre at best. Had to rate a 1 because 0 wasn't a choice. The staff had an attitude like they were being bothered and had better things to do.

My boyfriend and I have been to the mine shaft many times but after this past Sunday over Memorial weekend no more. The help was surly , my food had a big hair in it, my boyfriend had one very watered down drink. The entertainment was the same who sat and insulted people from santa fe and said he is paid by tips. Well this santa fe couple who have tipped him in the passed had one insult too many. His act is old and we do not need to sit and hear his right wing politics..just entertain. The place should have been packed but was not and being a few miles from santa fe maybe people are tired of the bad attitude and insults. The place across the street was packed and great music. It was very relaxing and fun something the mine shaft used to be. They lost our business and from the looks if it many others. Gross experience.

We came here for a nice little stop, check out the area and history. We had a drink and listened to a some live music, this place was ok. The staff took a lot of time to get our order and never asked us again to refill drinks...not sure if they were forgetful or just not very customer oriented...but either way, was not that much fun as a customer...we won’t be back or recommend to anyone...

This was a nice local place along the Turquoise Trail with loads of local flavor and style. Madrid is a funky former ghost town, now full of free thinkers and artists. The food here was tasty and abundant. But the local water has a strong sulfur smell. It's safe to drink but not appetizing. They know it, and steer people towards canned beverages. Good experience here.
