Nice to see a Mexican/Spanish Plaza, but these days Mesilla is all about tourism... What can I say... Buying stuff is overrated.

This is almost like walking through the streets of Mexico. Numerous buildings around the square are shops to browse in and there are many restaurants available as well. Dogs are welcome inmost of the stores which was a nice treat for us since we had our two with us.

Really enjoyed our visit to Old Mesilla Village. There are wine tastings, local artists, local flavors at restaurants and jewelry shops and more. If you want history on Billy the Kid, this is the place to visit. Ate at Peppers in Double Eagle Restaurant. Authentic Mexican food. Delicious. Bought Jalapeño Olive Oil and Vanilla infused honey from the Rustic Olive.... More

We visited the area to hike but visited Old Mesilla when winds were too high and on the rainy day. Discovered delicious local food, crafts, and old historical buildings.

I found this old village fascinating. The historic ambience is prevalent everywhere. I could well imagine old donkey carts traveling down the narrow streets. This place has definitely not been modernized to the point where the old is hardly visible. I spent two days wandering the streets and would have stayed longer just to absorb the historic old buildings, but... More

Nice to walk and shop through the village Many artistic shops we stopped and visited with the artist at one shop. The Billy the kid shop offered reasonable t-shirts the church is Beautiful Found that some things were quite expensive We enjoyed our visit and may stop back before we leave

Good place to see some history and do some regional shopping. We were there in December when all was decorated. Everyone in our group enjoyed it.

Spent some time shopping with family. Found some interesting gifts. Reminds me of Carytown in Richmond, VA. Nice morning excursion.

Several stores are located off the town square. On this Sunday morning there were also local vendors who set up tables around the square to sale their items. Bring your camera and extra money! There are several items to buy!

We are newbies to the southern New Mexico scene! We loved all the history beckoning us to stroll and read about the area. Visiting an art gallery a local talked to us about the 'doors' featured on postcards and watercolors...my husband is enraptured with doors! We bought the series of watercolors and are having them framed locally when we return... More
