Fun and thought provoking we enjoyed the time we spent here and the people we met. The museums were interesting and a fun step back in time. The Pat Garrett museum was interesting and well laid out. It told the story about the sheriff shooting...More

Our kids (ranging age 5-10) loved panning for stones and figuring out which ones they collected. It was a bit pricey. I suggest that you stop if it's already along your route, but definitely do not go out of your way to visit there. The...More

Good place for souvenirs and for kids. The cave itself is smaller than I expected. Good place, but not what we expected.

Cannot believe the collection in the museum buildings. So hard to believe all these rare collectibles are in one place in a small town. You have to walk through the museum buildings!!!!!!!

Went there to see if it would be good for our little grandkids. We found out that all ages would enjoy from finding gems and minerals to walking in part of a cave to seeing some of Lincoln County history in different buildings

I was very disappointed as it said cave and I thought we could tour a cave. But this was not to be as the cave is not open to the public. It did have a neat gift shop that showed the gems and minerals that...More

This is a fun place to see. They have rocked in a natural cave. Inside they have a rock shop and dinosaur models. It also has an outdoor museum that was a little overpriced so I'm not sure what it had. Very patient staff with...More

Tourist trap? Well, kind of, yes...but no one is forcing anyone to buy anything. We didn't spend a dime, but enjoyed stopping and checking the place out. LOTs of gem stones, minerals, crystals, fossils and other "stuff". Actually, a lot of it is not overpriced...More

This is definitely a tourist trap but I still think its worth a stop if you have time. The cave is where Billy the Kid had hidden before. You can go into it though. Its blocked off because there was a boulder that came down...More
