I didn't find this one to be as interesting as Perry null Trading. There wasn't as much merchandise and selection .

This place is large. My husband and I visited on a snowy day at the end of the day. The gallery was closed. I think you can discover more on better weather days. They have a large selection of every thing: silver jewelry, turquoise, Navajo rugs, saddles, fire arms. All the Southwestern artifacts.

Gallup is the world HQ for native-made turquoise pieces, and Richardson's is the grand dame in town. It is a well-know store and a must-see for folks interested in turquoise. It's fun to look around and admire the richly-decorated native artworks. Don't be afraid to ask for their "best price" for any pieces you see that interest you. I went... More

I bought my grandmother a silver cross to wear on a necklace. It had "turqoise" stones in it. I looked at their selection in the store. The lady showing me the options was not very friendly. She was kind of arrogant. She assured me they were real turquoise stones. I bought it (maybe around $70) and gave it to my... More

Buyer beware. They have a no refund policy that is not posted anywhere. Wanda was a great sales person when we were buying, but not so much when we went back the next day to see about returning one item. Her attitude changed dramatically & all she said was, "I can't help you with that" & then disappeared into the... More

This store, which was and maybe still is, a trading post, has been around for more than 100 years owned by the same family. There are several rooms, including one dedicated to rugs, only. You could spend at least 1/2 day in the store and probably still would not have seen everything. Oh, and did I mention the saddles? And... More

First off let me say that parking stinks around it. Very few parallel spots and lots of traffic. So by the time we found a spot it was 5:30. Website says open till 6 so was disappointed when most of the doors were already closed and locked.

I felt a bit like Howard Carter who, when entering Tutankhamen's tomb and asked by Lord Canarvon "what do you see?", replied "wonderful things!" OMG this place is amazing. Excellent, friendly service. It's a wonderful story to learn how Richardson's effectively acts as a bank for the local native Americans. Well worth a visit even if you don't intend to... More

We arrived late in the afternoon after a long haul from Flagstaff. We announced to the silver haired woman who welcomed us that we were interested in buying jewelry, but we needed to use the restroom first. She smiled knowingly and we were escorted past a thousand saddles in a back room to a tiny restroom behind the store. Ever... More
