Let me start by saying that the views are beautiful. I love what they have done with this course. It was a challenge but fun to play. Be prepared to lose some golf balls if you are not an accurate hitter. Don't be intimidated by the last comment. This is a great golf experience. The people were very friendly. The... More

Beautiful and well-designed course through the desert. Fair tee boxes for all abilities. Wide fairways are moderately bunkered. Very nice clubhouse with bar and dining facilities. This course seems sparsely played, probably due to the location, but is a diamond in the rough.

Traveling on business in New Mexico most courses I normally play we punching the greens decided to give Sierra Del Rio a chance. Nice club house, golf course interesting up and down on the front nine and short, back nine flatter and longer. Pace of play was great.

We played 18 holes in February in shorts! It was a beautiful day and the course was pretty good. A few holes needed some work, and the greens were super fast; but it was a fun and beautiful day. The service was nice and the accommodations were good too.

I will be blunt, this place SUCKS. We had a group of 45 people drive 80 miles from Las Cruces, NM for a car rallye and lunch. Sierra Del Rio was phoned well ahead of time to advise the restaurant that 45 people would be attending lunch. We arrived at 1:00PM, and there was NO waiter/waitress available for our group.... We played this course at the end of September. We had no advance warning of the greens being aerated and top dressed other wise I would not have booked a tee time. They did give us discount because of the greens. One thing that was out of their control was the outrageous swarms of mosquitoes due to the recent rains... More

With a rather limited menu, this restaurant has much improved under new management. Weather permitting, sit out on the deck and enjoy your food while overlooking the beautiful golf course. Located in the small desert town of Elephant Butte, NM, the green manicured turf is a pleasant escape for dinner. The food is good and the full bar is enjoyable... More

Holy Cow. What a great golf course. One of the best in New Mexico. I stayed at the Comfort Inn and got a coupon to only play for $45 and it included range balls and a cart. I will be making special trips to just play the course. The food at the club house was also great. The "Green" is... More

Course is great, challenging and fun. Restaurant is open for limited hours, only till 7 pm so when we finished our round we were turned away. We did try again another day to eat here and food is mediocre at best. Basic sandwiches and they didn't have all the ingredients for my sandwich but failed to tell me before bringing... More
