Welcome to Far Flung Adventures! The northern region of New Mexico offers access to unprecedented beauty, and though the Southwest is known for its incredible scenery, our rivers offer an unforgettable experience.

We are located in Taos, which provides easy access to many of the finest New Mexico rivers. The best rafting in the region can be found on The Rio Grande at the bottom of a beautiful gorge, or on America's Newest Wild and Scenic River, the Rio Chama. The fun starts shortly after ski season, as the snow begins to melt, providing excellent river conditions during runoff and throughout the summer.

We had a really pleasant day on the Rio Grande with our guide Christine who was very informative and clearly knew the river well. We enjoyed the combined funyacks and rafting experience. Great value for money.

6 of us took a Funyaks trip down the Rio Grande river with Christine and Will. We had such fun, and they were remarkable guides! The photos were great and lunch was oh so good! Don't miss out on this great trip while you are in Taos, NM!

I took my first ever whitewater rafting trip on the Rio Chama and it was wonderful from start to finish. Andrea, our guide, was superb at piloting us through the soft water up top before lunch and the real white water after lunch. Her instructions were direct, clear, and precise. She also knew the flora, fauna, and geology of the... More

There are so many rafting companies in Taos that we didn't know which to choose, but we drove by the Far Flung office and decided to pop in and try to make a reservation. Lucky us! The people who work for this company are consummate professionals. And I mean professionals not just at navigating the river, but professionals of FUN!... More

We had the best experience with far flung adventures! First, I must say Liz who answers the phone was friendly and helpful with all my questions. I called many times to ask multiple questions about our trip and she was always very nice on the phone. We took the overnight rio chama trip for my bachelorette party and I was... More

We did the Taos Box. What a great day! Christine is a top notch rafting guide. She was quick to call out instructions and we paddled. She was a really great guide. Far Flung Adventures, Rock and Raft, was recommended by another family when we were on a hiking adventure. GO! This company was so fun! We rock climbed and rappelled in the morning. We had three guides who were amazing, professional, and very encouraging. I am afraid of heights and I had a ball and so did my family. The view... More

The Taos Box has a reputation for being a dangerous trip, however with these guides you know you'll get down the river safely. Our raft master had over 25 years handling white water adventures and he got us down the river safely and we had a blast while doing it. Even had knowledge of local flora and fauna which was... Rafting the Taos Box on the Rio Grande Gorge was incredible. The scenery was simply breathtaking and we saw a family of geese, a muskrat, and mountain sheep. The river was flowing at 2100 cfs, the highest it has been at this time of year in ten years. We had many class 3 and a couple class 4 rapids. Andrea... More
