We stopped in around Christmas last year, to see the Christmas lighting outside. It was a fun night, had some hot coco, learned about the Harvey House, the Harvey Girls and railroading in NM.

This old Harvey House that has been converted into a museum has many artifacts of the Belen area and we found all of it very interesting. There is a small gift shop that has books on the area.

One of the docents gave us a tour and answered all our questions. The Harvey Girls history is fascinating. Imagine single women in 1899 leaving home to live at a train station and serve train passengers, unheard of at the time. Strict rules kept it...More
