Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place makes me love yoga!! I never thought yoga would be my thing as I wasn't flexible enough for lots of things. I consider myself a yoga beginner. After I've tried Ashtanga class with Shiho, I started to fall in love with yoga. I love the chanting before and after the yoga session. It has really helped me to settle my mind and energy. I've tried their hot yoga too, but I think I might not hydrate myself enough that I always felt dizzy in class. But Ashtanga is in room temperature so my body seemed to like it a lot more. Overall, strongly recommend.

Nice studio in the main street in Seminyak. We had a very good instructor and the room was perfectly hot :)
It costs around $17 per session and they give you a mat and towel.

All I can say is this studio is perfection. I love the ambience from the moment you walk through the front door. The studio is spotlessly clean and has that beautiful Bali essence throughout. Angie the instructor is not only a walking advertisement for living and breathing yoga but she is able to lead her class in such a wonderful way. She was hands on at times but always got the best out of the class. I did my best ever bikram class with her. The girls at reception are lovely and you can hire mats and towels there as well. What I particularly liked was that there was no rush to leave the building and you could relax and order fresh coconut juice at the end. I attended the 6pm class and was so wonderfully energised afterwards. You must go whilst in Bali.

A great centrally located yoga studio known for its hot classes. The Hot Pilates was good but the Hot Yoga was terrible - even with the same teacher. The teacher did not introduce herself or the class and gave little instruction and no demonstrations of poses. As some who practices yoga regularly the Hot Yoga class was awful. She started the class with advanced standing postures with no warm up and then left without Savasana and told us to lie down and rest if we wanted. The cleanliness of the room, the mats and blocks was also questionable.

On vacation from Los Angeles. So excited this studio offers a Yin class. Arrived to studio for class and informed the front desk I am a Yoga Instructor. She replied, "You want to become a yoga instructor? " I explained again that I was already certified as an instructor and wanted the discounted instructor rate. She asked me again, "You want to be a yoga instructor?" This went back and forth a few times before I went online to the website of the studio I teach at. I also showed her my class. She asked me for the full class rate. I'm confused. Yoga instructors at the studio are offered a discounted rate. She finally agreed to charge me the discount.
Then she asked me, "Have you ever taken a yoga class?" I'm confused again. I explained again...that I have been teaching over a year. Then it hit me...
In this "sacred & diverse" space black women aren't recognized as yogis and/or yoga instructors for that matter. I am heartbroken to find such a lack of diversity here in Bali.
But...I'm not finished. I then explained I was leaving back to the U.S. in the morning and only have $20 bills. She said, "I can't make change for that. I don't know how to." I'm confused. Is this not a business? So I asked if she could go find change and I formed her that I just want to get on my mat. She took my money, left, and returned to informed me that, "she couldn't make change for it."
I finally walked out. This is the OPPOSITE of all 8 of the limbs of yoga. I'm so disgusted and appalled that there is such a lack of diversity. I wonder...if I was a white woman claiming to be a yoga instructor would it have happened the same.

The yoga studio itself was clean and spacious. The instructor was great too... giving clear instructions, personable and friendly. The class was suitable for beginners or experienced yogis. BUT, what frustrated me was that the class was advertised as 180,000IDR.
What they don't tell you is that you also have to rent the mat and the towel. The towel for 20,000IDR and the mat for 10,000IDR. This makes the cost of the class in excess of 210,000IDR, which seems pricey.
I've been to 100's of yoga studios and this is the first one where you have to rent the mat. Most members here in Bali are surely transient visitors without their own mat, so it seems a bit of a money making approach to yoga.
I think Jiwa should either include the towels and mats in the price, or make it more clear from the start. This really ruined my experience of the yoga class. And for the sake of 30,000IDR I won't be returning. It seems that this small win for Jiwa, results in a bigger loss overall.
When I told the receptionist that I was dissatisfied, there was no apology or empathy, and in no way did she receive my feedback as constructive.
Disappointing.

I took a class a few weeks ago at jiwa yoga in petitenget area.
I always wanted to try it so i took my chance while on vacation.
The studio looked okay at the entrance area, but once you have paid and are in the locker area, its all filthy and disgusting.
I didnt really wanted to change in there.
Afterwards i went to the class, all yoga mats which they where providing where disgusting and had a certain smell of cold sweat on them.
I was happy to finish the class.
teacher was okay i would say, but the arrogance´behavior after class was terrible!
I wasted around 3 hours of my holiday at this place never again!

I've been to Jiwa Bikram every time i stay in Seminyak, Bali... and I've had great experiences every times.. the teachers are great, the students are highly motivated and it makes you want to give it everything you've got even though it's crazy hot, you're dripping everywhere, you wondered why you pulled yourself out of bed at 6.30am while on holiday, but once you're lying in the final position, you realize that you made a good decision when your body feels lighter after all that fantastic Indonesian rendeng ... end off with fresh coconut water with a squeeze of lime, for the whole experience :-)
