This hike was a wonderful thing to do. It was a bit harder than I imagined as I am 7 months pregnant but still totally do-able. The hike is in the shade next to the river so it was peaceful and beautiful. They do not take credit cards at the gate so we had to drive back to town to... More

Maps and signage are an issue at this reserve and need to be improved. The reserve has large areas of pine forest which you drive through, not the most attractive of vistas. The climb to the waterful is not for the unfit. There are so many better places to enjoy.

The hikes to the waterfalls are a must for nature lovers. It was steep, but fairly easy going. The natural beauty of the river and flora were amazing!

We took the East Plata hike which was a lovely circle hike up the mountain and around two large ravines. Was intermediate in difficulty although the first 40 minutes was a steep assent. Once on the top was a very nice trail with stunning views. Saw foot prints of leopards and the hike took 2 hours with brief stops and... More

In summer a hike here is hot in the open, cool in the many shaded areas. If you really want to experience all the mountain and magnificent hikes on well maintained paths, go in winter. Do not miss out on the easy walk to the spectacular waterfall. For the more adventurous and fit, do the unforgettable "Plaat" walk. And if... More

This is a delightful but underused nature trail which is well worth a visit and all set against a backdrop of wonderful views across the hills forming a backdrop to the whole area - have a look - there's just no downside !

Enjoyed stunning 3 hour hike with my daughter, felt very safe walking alone and the rim flow pool half way along the hike was the highlight of the walk...easy walk, great for families.

We did the waterfall hike which is an hour long hike to a waterfall. The hike is quite steep but manageable, even for people with a moderate fitness level. There are two more difficult hiking trails in the park that we did not attempt, so you could turn this in to a full day activity if you wish. A family... More
