Great place to go bass fishing. Very peaceful and beautiful. Pick a calm day and head to the Groenvlei in the early morning. You can get a fishing licence in Knysna or in the little fishing shop in Sedgefield. You also need a boat licence...More

Very nice and quiet place to stay with most amenities available. Could have used wifi but we learned to go without for the three days we stayed there. The Lodge was very comfortable and spacious. I can recommend a short stay here without a doubt.

The best camping site in the area and there are a lot camping sites. Maintenance is falling behind. Rather go to Sedgefield for food.

Quiet and tranquil. A great area for Birdwatching. A favourite for fishermen too. Get away from the rush and relax.

Walk through ancient fynbos and trees in the dunes that line Groenvlei, taking the well-marked trail up the dunes to eventually have a panoramic view of the entire lake, sparkling in all its peaceful beauty. A genuine treat for nature lovers! There is a picnic...More

Very pretty, tranquil and scenic. Good to spend a day relaxing around the water. But if your not fishing there is not much to do. Excellent for bird watching and so close to nature it can be breathtaking.

A lesser-known and therefore quiet spot between Sedgefield and Knysna. It's the only freshwater lake in the Garden Route lakes system and is home to bass. The dirt road past Groenvlei leads to a beautiful and mostly-deserted beach called Platbank. Even in the height of...More
