Wild Oats is a local farmers and food market open every Saturday morning...

Wild Oats is a local farmers and food market open every Saturday morning until 12 noon. We are located on the western outskirts of Sedgefield at the turnoff to Sedgefield Island. An award winning Garden Route landmark we are not to be confused with the Scarab Craft Market to the far east of Engen Petrol Station or the Mosaic Flea Market across the road from Wild Oats. As a food market, our open times are limited due to the short shelf-life of many of our LOCALLY PRODUCED products which include: Free-range chicken, beef, pork and lamb, free-range eggs, multiple cheese, dairy and baked products including fresh gouda, cheddar, blue-cheeses... milk, fresh fish, fruits, free-range & organic vegetables in season, many traditional and exotic bottled goods, organic olives, berries, rusks, koeksisters, biltong & wors, famous artisan breads, award-winning cheesecakes and goats cheeses... and on and on and on. Also a fabulous range of hot-off-the-grill breakfasts, coffees, teas and fresh-squeeze juices and smoothies. FOOD HEAVEN! Come face-to-face with our local food producers every Saturday morning, come rain or shine.

The place is open from 7.30am till 12noon, and it is very near the Mosaic and Scarab craft markets. There are a lot of stalls selling different produces, with some even selling breakfast items. Parking is available until 1pm (1 hour after the market closes).

Here you can just about buy any and everythinging, from fresh herbs, locally grown veg and fruit and even your meat. This is not a flea market but truely a farmers market. Well worth the drive to Sedgefield and we will definately be visiting more often.

We went early, and I'm glad. It gets very busy after 9:30. There are 3 parts to the market. 1 food and 2 craft areas. The food consists of some fresh organic and non-organic produce, home industry type foods and fresh made things to eat (breakfast, coffee, omelette etc) the food we had was great. There is seating and it... More

Thanks for your awesome review! Wild Oats is proudly the ONLY DEDICATED farm/food market in South Africa operating since 1999... the other two craft/flea markets are separately owned and managed... they have opened on our doorstep in an attempt to share our popularity!!! They have their own TripAdvisor pages (Scarab Craft Market / Mosaic Outdoor Market). More

Lovely Market, the Food/Farmers Market was full of delicious treats, for eating there or taking home. The Kids loved it. Wonderful craft and market stalls, not filled with "junk". Wonderful hand made items, clothing, etc

This may be the very best farmers market we've ever been to! You can start with breakfast (egg and sausage wonton on a skewer), move to dessert (the Brazilian lady selling pastries made according to her grandmother's recipes),sit down with a lovely latte and then buy some fruit, veggies and cheeses to take home. What a delightful experience! Then wander... More

Decided to go to the market, as someone who lives in Sedgefield recommended it to us. Very pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed walking around. Don't buy right away, even if told you are the 'first customer' and that they will give you a special price. Walk around and get a feel of the place. If you don't want to try some of... More

A fantastic food market. Enormous variety and amazing tastes. Try the gorgeous strawberries, the fuitsalad, the german sausage with mustard and onion, the cheesecake and cuppachino. Buy some proteas on the way out. Too much to try there on the day.
