Great visit

Lovely well maintained estate and grounds. Comfortable tasting room and lovely wine. We enjoyed every tasting which is not always the case. Well worth the time to visit.

The gardens and shops here are stunning. The wine sampling was very good, the staff did not rush us or pressure us. Tasting room was very well decorated.

The tasting room is open and spacious but remains cozy somehow. We shared a tasting (included 7 wines for R50). We liked the Syrah the best and purchased 2 bottles. There is a hiking trail behind the vineyard but we did not have time to explore it.

We were keen to wine taste at La Motte as we had heard it is worthwhile but unfortunately that was not the case for us. When we arrived at the tasting room it was already full and we were a larger group - of 8 people. We told the manager that we were happy to wait for a table to... More

While the wine is average, the estate is lovely. The cellar is really impressive, and the building has a lovely feel to it.

Pity this platform doesn't allow a negative rating (minus a lot). It is such a beautiful and elegant estate but ruined by rude, ignorant staff that are only interested in their 'master's ' will. We arrived wanting to enjoy the views and surrounds and a great bottle of wine. When we asked the staff for a bottle and two glasses... More

Situated next door to Leopards Leap this is the sister vinyard run by a different branch of the same family. The tasting rooms are set in an extremely pretty garden setting. The tasting itself was well organised and presented by a knowledeable somalier although personally, I found her attotude a bit snooty. The wine was good but a little ethereal... More

I was entertaining an Australian friend from Tokyo that is a travel journalist. We ran out of the previous winery early to get to la Motte before they closed at 5pm. I had told her that in her short week here she should try the wines at La Motte because they were special. We raced there and arrived at 4.43pm... More

Attentive wine tasting experience in a beautiful setting. Nice whites and reds on offer. They also have a museum and farm shop.
