Discover the Vineyards of Franschhoek. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on...

Discover the Vineyards of Franschhoek. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley - picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Tour Experience: Passengers aboard the hop-on hop-off tour will experience a unique and leisurely introduction to the Franschhoek Valley as they journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most distinguished wine estates. A combination of tram and tram-bus follows a loop of stops allowing guests to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, such as wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards. When ready guests simply hop on to continue the tour. The tour takes guests into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a guided commentary and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards.

This is really the most perfect way to get around Franschoek and see all the wineries, without driving. We used it to see a number of locations. It's perfect, simply perfect. It runs to a tight schedule, so don't be late.

Although it is certainly a very touristy activity we found it a perfect way to get a sense of the are and the wineries around Franschhoek. We only had two nights here and if we hadn't done the tram, we wouldn't have known where to start! We booked in advance the red line (early booking recommended) and we were very... More

Tour was well organised from purchasing of tickets, punctuality of bus/tram and provision of service to look after purchases until the end of the tour. We chose the blue route and enjoyed most of the stops especially La Mont Rochelle( truly beautiful relaxed setting with excellent service) La Bourgogne ( small less formal setting, excellent inexpensive lunch menu which was... We loved the green line wineries. We visited Grande Provence, Mont Rochelle, La Lude and La Bourgogne (our favorite). I can't think of an easier and more fun way to visit several wineries. We did have a huge family group with kids. They were pretty loud and annoying so we just tried to pick the wineries they didn't.

The Wine Tram people really know what they're doing! :) The wine tram schedule was so punctual. It's such a great way to visit 4-6 vineyards without having to worry about drinking and driving! The host on the tram was very knowledgable about every stop and was also very helpful! I highly recommend the Wine Tram if you are in... More

The wine tram is definitely the best way to get to the wineries in Franschhoek and to have wine tastings. Unfortunately the presentations are too much like cheap made commercials and the music played during the rides is rather embarrassing

Best Way to visit the wineries. The Bus/Tram have 3 different itineraries passing by different wineries, you would pick your favorite route and join the tram. bus/Tram would pass by around 8 or more wineries, you can decide at which one to drop off. bus/Tram will come back at one hour intervals from drop-off time. one hour is enough for... A fun and enjoyable way to see the wine estates on the selected routes. The service is efficient and on time. The advantage is that it avoids the dangers of driving after the wine tasting.

My girlfriend and I visited in April 2017 and had a great day. Depending on what time you start you can fit up to 6 different wine farms in. There are also 4 different routes to choose from. The tour guides are friendly and knowledgable making the transit between farms enjoyable. The tram is very reasonably priced and the tastings... More
