Schotia offers one of the best chances to see lions in the wild. This private malaria free reserve close to the Addo Elephant National Park is probably the most densely stocked reserve in Africa, and with over 40 mammal species and approximately 2000 animals, can offer consistently good game viewing throughout the year.

The Schotia Tooth and Claw Safari was absolutely incredible! We were so close to the animals, and our driver, Edward was so friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. He made sure we were able to get the perfect pictures and see as many animals as possible! The dinner that night was also very special, as we waited around a lovely... More

Some reviewers stating that this is a big zoo, I kind of agree with... a fair few of the game you would not see in the Cape and if you wish to travel with children and stay out of malaria regions, this is a good option to give them a taste of what safari among wild animals can look like.... More

Had an incredible time on the Tooth & Claw Safari. We had Scott as our guide and he was fantastic; very knowledgeable and informative. Got out of the Jeep to walk through the trees to get up close to the giraffe. Also got far closer to the lions and elephants than I ever expected to. We finished with a few... More

Four of us did the afternoon and meal at night option. Was great to see the various animals and with a great guide (who had only just started the previous November after a career in teaching) we had the perfect educational trip. Always felt safe and finished off with a nice buffet meal and a glass or two of some... More

The tent camp was perfect, lions were roaring and Ty was the perfect guide. Many many animals were to be seen. Ty was great in explaining but although in the way he looked for the animals. Great value for money, and a experience to remember. We spend 1 day at Addo, which we enjoyed as well, but Schotia is a... More

Really well organised from start to finish. My two teenage children absolutely loved it. We had our own ranger named Dale who was excellent and very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We stayed overnight and the accommodation was amazing including a real fire which my husband was delighted with. The weather wasn't great but it made no difference as... More

The whole tour included an afternoon and night safari. It was very well organised and our guide, Scott, made everyone in our vehicle feel welcome and comfortable. The guides know pretty well where to find the animals and we had some very rich observations. The tea break was very pleasant with warm drinks and scones. The dinner was plentiful in... More

I chose a full day Addo+Schotia. I mostly loved the second half in Schotia. The open car is fun and allow to look for animals far away. The guide Zaine was so enthusiastic about his job. The dinner was tasty and in a great setting. I would go there again.

Went on an early morning drive as it's the best time to see the cats was not impressed with the drive came across a brown hyena who ran away when we approached so we only got the tail end the driver then thought it was a good idea to look at a zebra head that they were eating instead of... More

We had a combined trip to the elephant park and here. Picked up from out hotel by Carl who stayed with us all day as our guide and he was brilliant. So knowledgeable and well informed not to mention thoughtful and considerate. The whole day was mind blowing and unforgettable. We felt privileged to see the animals at such close... More
