Interesting Museum

A different type of museum and a great place for anyone interested in how life was at the Jersey Shore years ago.

There are a few buildings you can go through, the nicest of which is the lighthouse. Unless you go during an event such as a craft show, antique boat show or food truck event, it's probably not worth the admission. It's a shame that it's gotten somewhat rundown because I do believe it was meant to be an attraction of... More

I have not been to the seaport since it opened. I went during the week, so there weren't many visitors. The main building housed the gift shop and a place to purchase tickets. Basically you are on your own to tour the seaport, of which there were very few. The lighthouse was interesting and the woman who was there was... More

The buildings were nice. There is a nice lighthouse there. It was not one of their busy days. The staff was not all that friendly.

Our family decided to go see what bacon fest was all about this past weekend. It was so great! So many food trucks and vendors. Live music in several different areas, pig races, and a mechanical pig to name a few of the highlights! We will definitely go back next year if they have it there!

We had a wonderful Father's Day with our daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter (10) and grandson (6). Besides the informative little museums, the kids got to dress up as fishmongers and "sell" to us, their customers. They also dressed up in slickers like the fishermen do, fed the sheep and goats and romped in the playground. Our grandson even noticed that the... More

Tuckerton Seaport evolved out of the Bayman's Museum in Tuckerton, NJ, as a way to show visitors how people not only lived, but thrived in those "olden days." Many of those life skills that evolved into art are demonstrated here and visitors can arrange to take part since the Seaport offers classes on such things as decoy making, hunting boat... More
