It is nice place to barbeque, picnic and spend time with friends and family. Swimming is permitted. Boating rental is also available. Free parking.

NJ, where I grew up, is a place of contrasts. ANd in this instance, it is most worth seeking out the pleasant, rural and uncrowded contrast - escape the urban corridor and the mega-sprawl and take a day trip up into the Ramapo Mountains.

Yes, there are grills by almost all picnic benches We have never used them but I've seen others doing so The park is Carry In/Carry Out (i.e. no trash cans) so I am unsure how you deal with the hot coals or any other... More
