We visit Rutgers Gardens on a regular basis; it's free, it's lovely, and has lots of space for kids to run. Stroll the garden beds or bamboo stand. If you have more time, there are trails through the woods, with loops as long as 1.5 hilly miles (and several shorter and flatter. Farmer's Market on Fridays noon -5 throughout the... More

Spent the day wandering the gardens, there are many varieties of plants and displays to visit. They have some photo oops as well with large wood chairs etc in the garden. The best part was the walk through the bamboo forest that has several paths and places to sit. Be ware to keep an eye out for people running in... More

I like coming here on a nice day to take in the scenary . They also have a farmers market on specific days during the summer and you can get some good fresh produce. My favorite section is the bamboo forest section, it takes me back in time.

It's peaceful and beautiful. There's enough land to take the dog for a nice long walk. Varied habitats from manicured gardens to woods to water. Also a great place to rent for an event like a birthday party or wedding.

There is no season that cannot be enjoyed here It is beautiful raw, during one of its many events and festivals, during the rites of spring and colors of autumn. This is a fun family place, a place for solitude and contemplation, a place to discover or recall the awes of nature and the peacefulness she can provide.

When you first pull into this place, you're met by someone handing out a leaflet with some park information on it. After that, you're given a choice to go left OR right to park and off you go. But.. go where? There's a T intersection road that you're on and you have no idea where to go. Just start walking.... More

From the trails to the gardens. From the different seating locations to all the different birds and chipmunks and butterflies. A great reading escape.

It's nice to be outside and the setting is fairly nice. There are a lot "fancier" gardens, but there's quite a bit of space here and the facility's are nice. Grata farmers market as well.

There are various trails for hiking, ponds for fishing. Bring a blanket and a book and relax. I have seen many weddings in the Pine Forest and the Log Cabin. A very relaxing place to visit!
